デヴィッド・ボウイさんのインスタグラム写真 - (デヴィッド・ボウイInstagram)「WERE YOU A HAMMERSMITH 1983 OVERNIGHTER? “You could look into my eyes…” Forty years ago today, on 30th June 1983, David Bowie performed at the Hammersmith Odeon in London for a charity show for the Brixton Neighbourhood Community Association in the presence of Princess Michael of Kent. Returning to the venue ten years to the week since he last played there in 1973, Bowie performed a fun show with a stripped-down set which had none of the usual scenery or set pieces. Spontaneous props thrown from the crowd were immediately utilised by a playful David, including flowers and an inflatable leg! (Hello Dianne and Starzone members, thankyou Kevin) Some of the overnighters who queued outside the ticket agency were rewarded with a signed photo of David. We’ve reproduced one here, but we’ve enhanced the autograph as, due to the original ink colour, it’s not particularly legible.
