Watched a great documentary “Kim’s Video” at the Tribeca Film Festival @tribecafilmfestival . It’s the story of two film makers. One is an emigrant who came to this country with zero and turned his love for movies into a video franchise and a bootlegged film collection that no other chain could rival. The other is a young filmmaker who becomes obsessed with the collection and subscribes to criminal acts to preserve it! I remember visiting this video store in the east village in the early 90’s. Had the great pleasure of meeting the film’s director David Redmon @davidwredmon and Mr. Kim himself @yongman4185 . SEE THIS MOVIE! Very nostalgic!
