Recently the huge Waterloo table, made of mahogany in 1846, has undergone a comprehensive French polish giving it the incredible sheen that you see today. Members of the Order of the Garter sit around the Waterloo table which is laid with silver gilt including Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee centrepiece and four Neptune bottle coolers, part of George IV’s Grand Service, as well as pieces from William IV’s Worcester Coronation Service.
