A space selfie to round out the week.
It’s been a busy month on the station. During two spacewalks, NASA astronauts Steve Bowen and Woody Hoburg spent a combined total of 11 hours and 38 minutes outside the station to install two new roll-out solar arrays. The very first roll-out solar array was installed exactly two years ago on June 16, 2021. Since then, six (including the two from the last week) have been installed, and together enable a roughly 30% increase in the station’s power production.
As a successful week of spacewalks comes to an end, Roscosmos cosmonauts are readying for next week’s planned seven-hour spacewalk which will air live on NASA TV, beginning at 9:45 a.m. EDT on June 22.
