For SS24, @martine_rose invited guests to a local community centre in Highgate, north London. Wood-panelled with a faint aroma of milky tea, the neighbourhood venue was overtaken by a ragtag crew of street-cast models in hunched-over jackets and gaffer-taped jeans and chintzy twin sets.

Rose – who is all about finding beauty in the strange quirks of everyday people – said the whole thing was centred on the subcultural, makeshift spirit of working men’s clubs in the 70s and 80s. Alongside grease-crinkled tailoring, old fashioned girdles, and a collaboration with @yaz_____xl , Rose used the occasion to debut her first collection as the guest designer of Clark’s, twisting sensible shoes to misshapen extremes.
