I often fantasize about deleting this Instagram account completely, putting the remnants of my old life to bed once and for all. Sometimes it feels like a shell of someone I used to be, and I don’t fit in this shell anymore. Sometimes I feel the pressure to make most of potential “opportunities” and what ifs. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that the opportunities worth having are the ones that are tangible and right in front if you. They are never the ones that keep you waiting for something out of your control to come to you. I keep putting off the fantasy of freedom from an online presence. I think I stay here for a few reasons, but some of the loving reasons are because it allows me to connect to people, and it allows me to express myself. And maybe I take my self expressions more seriously when I share them somewhere they might be witnessed by others. So for now, I’ll stay and I’ll continue with the self expression. And I’ll share things that make me happy. I have so much more happiness now. I used to be cool and buzz worthy and multi hyphenated and marketable. Now I am present, connected, authentic, at peace..
