Our sweet pup passed away a few days ago 😔 they found a mass on his spleen and are not sure if it was due to that or something else. Some people have told us that dogs sometimes wait until their owners are gone to pass to spare them grief and maybe that is a wives tale but believing anything else hurts too much 😔 he was there for every single baby being born. He moved from Utah to Alabama to New York to Hawaii to Arizona with us. He would guard the door when I worked out alone early in the morning. When the kids would swim he would walk around the pool barking anytime he thought someone was struggling. When David was out of town he slept out of his usual spot and instead in the middle of the house. He was always protecting us 💔 he was sooooooo good to us I’m so devastated and hurt that we weren’t there with him when he left. I feel like I’ll never forgive myself for that. I didn’t know it could hurt this much losing an animal. I love him sooooo much and will miss him being at my feet as I do my make up, cook, or really do anything since he was truly always by my side. Hikes, camping, and road trips won’t be the same. I’m so happy me and David groomed him before we left - we washed his hair and trimmed him up all nice. He will be the most handsome dog in heaven. I miss him so much it makes me just so sad 😔 I never considered this a possibility because I thought we had more time with him.. he was the best dog ever. I love you so so so so so so so much Chauncey 🕊️💔😔
