界 加賀では4月19日に「金継ぎ工房」をオープンいたしました。金継ぎとは割れてしまった器を漆で繋ぎ合わせ、表面に装飾として金などの金属紛を蒔いて仕上げる技法のことです。
金継ぎに欠かせない材料といえば「漆」。「漆の一滴は、血の一滴」といわれることをご存じでしょうか。
実は、漆は、一本の木から200mlほどしか採れない、とても貴重な原料です。採る際は木に、一本一本丁寧に、傷を付け樹液をかき出します。大切に採れた漆は、金継ぎには欠かせない役割を担っています。そんな漆を使っている界 加賀の金継ぎ工房で、日本の伝統技術に触れてみてはいかがでしょうか。

Golden repair is a technique in which broken vessels are joined with lacquer and finished by sprinkling metal powder such as gold on the surface as decoration.
The essential material for golden repair is lacquer. Did you know it is called "A drop of lacquer is a drop of blood"?
Lacquer is a precious raw material that can only be harvested in about 200ml from a single tree. When gathering it, the tree is carefully scratched one by one to extract the sap. Carefully harvested lacquer plays an essential role in golden repair.
