05/18/2023 🫶🏼 My dream birth. A powerful experience I could never forget. I’m so proud of myself & my body! I went to my 38 week check up after having contractions all day & got checked, I was about 5cm dilated and decided I was going to walk around the mall eat & try to progress a little more before checking into the hospital. Contractions started to pick up and I felt like it was time to make my way to the hospital. I moved throughout every contraction & kept as active as possible which really helped me progress. After laboring for about 5 hours in the hospital my water broke around 11:30PM & that’s when things really began to pick up. I got in the shower & Willy ran the hot water on my back as I sat on a peanut ball swaying side to side. I began to feel discouraged, like I no longer had it in me, exhausted. That’s when everyone started to reassure me that baby was close! I got out of the shower leaning over the sink swaying through every contraction. At this point the contractions were so strong and coming in back to back all I remember saying was “PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK”

Then finally the urge to 💩 I made my way to the bed and on all fours I swayed, and tried different positions to get baby out! Finally I hear the words “I see his head” & that gave me the reassurance I needed. My baby was close. The feeling is something you just can’t describe. My body did all the pushing for me. I remember my midwife saying “when you feel like pushing just lean into it” so that’s exactly what I did. The ring of fire was probably the most painful part of it all but it was quick and baby was out pretty fast!!
