I grew up as an only-child and although both my parents worked their asses off, slacking, goofing off causing problems for them wasn't in my best interest. I knew early on that in order to get out of my neighborhood and make something of myself I needed to stay locked in on my goals daily. Everything I set my eyes on I treated as a competition and that was met with opposition because others wanted that A grade on a bell curve or a starting spot on the hoop team! Time management, being accountable, learning through listening and paying attention to a lesson plan enabled me the consciousness to create my own path to success. Doing the work while nobody is around also sets a foundation of principles that will either yield mediocrity or excellence!!! Set the tone by figuring out what you truly want in your life and see if your habits match with whom you want to be. More than likely they aren't adding up and that's where you begin. The cool thing is you get to decide whether you will be a winner or a loser. Become a greater version of self or be that person who complains about how life ain't fair and how everyone else has it easier than you. Maybe just maybe the hard times are a sign of an amazing story you get to experience and share with us all if you decide you are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
