Is that a dinosaur? Nope: It’s the rhinoceros iguana (Cyclura cornuta)! 🦎This large, heavy-bodied lizard’s name refers to the horns on its head. These horns, which are found on both males and females, are used in combat among males as well as display behavior like head-bobbing. This animal, which can grow to an impressive 4 ft (1.2 m) long, is found only on the Caribbean island Hispaniola. Its diet consists primarily of plants and insects, but it may occasionally feed on carrion.
