I was excited when @valariekaur visited my studio last year. Her activism and overall approach to life inspire me, as well as her outspokenness around hate crimes against the Sikh and Muslim American communities. I used that inspiration in my portrait for her and @amplifierart titled “Rebirth,” which was then used for her book “See No Stranger.” In honor of Valarie and AAPI heritage month, please check it out again if you haven’t!
