What a difference a day makes. From torrential downpours yesterday morning to stunning sunlight today. Either way Yame didn’t care. He was out and about and happy, running in, out and through the water like a bat out of hell. To think he’s now 9 and still acting like an overgrown cub is wonderful and bears testament to his loving home. Not all lions living in captivity are as lucky as Yame and his brother George. The implications of the new regulations that are on the cards, will leave more than 9000 to 10000 lions destitute and destined for euthanasia. This is the reality facing the captive lion population in South Africa.
