Karl hosted a private dinner party at his house in st Germain. We joined Valentino, Kirstin Scott Thomas and other luminaries. Shepherded by Melanie Ward, I endeded next to Rei Kawakubo (!) with whom I had a long lively chat (!!) (She visited our showroom a few years later and carried our upcycled cashmere collection in her Tokyo store). Karl showed up just before dinner was served, emerging from his studio with Demi Moore - he was photographing her nude for Visionnaire magazine while we had aperitifs (as one does!) We dined at Amanda Harlech’s table along with Philip Treacy - the British contingent, obviously.
