Celebrities Honor Karl Lagerfeld at 2023 Met Gala

Officially, the Met Gala is the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit. Unofficially, it’s the party of the year, bringing together some of the biggest names from Hollywood, fashion, politics, media and music.

This year, the gala was an homage to Karl Lagerfeld, the longtime designer of Chanel, Fendi and his own line. Lagerfeld, who helped shape the modern fashion world, died in 2019. Many attendees used their outfits as a way to honor Lagerfeld and his legacy. Some looks appeared to be inspired by Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, who did not attend.
