During the last two decades, 23 species of trilobite have been identified from New Mexico’s Caballero and Lake Valley Formations—including this 2-in-(5-cm-) long Pudoproetus fernglenensis. This ancient arthropod lived during the Mississippian Period some 350 million years ago.
