Click the link in our bio to explore some of our favorite titles from 2023. 🌾 "Bíilukaa" by Wendy Red Star. Red Star combines historical photographs and documents of Indigenous life with material culture to create vibrant collages that educate the public about the necessity of collections and archives, while also honoring her family's Apsáalooke Indigenous heritage. 🎪 "Nicolas Party" from Phaidon Press (@phaidonpress). Party is known for his color-saturated paintings of everyday objects, distinctly personal yet stamped with accessible graphic imagery. A must-read for collectors and followers of the contemporary art scene, "Nicolas Party" is the first collection of the totality of Party's works. 🌙 "Luna Luna: The Art Amusement Park" from Phaidon Press. In the late 1980s, more than 30 of the era's most acclaimed artists – including Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dalí, and Kaith Haring – designed unique and fully operational fairground attractions for an amusement park in Hamburg, Germany. 🌈 "Iro: The Essence of Color in Japanese Design" by Rossella Menegazzo. Expertly bound in a traditional Japanese style, this stunning book explores over 200 colors (iro in Japanese) and their design applications, with traditional shades illustrating objects from 16th-century kimonos to contemporary chairs. 🕊️ "Hilma af Klint: Tree of Knowledge" from David Zwirner Books (@davidzwirnerbooks). This rarely seen series of works on paper renders orbital, enigmatic forms, visual allegories of unification and separateness, darkness and light, beginning and end, life and death, and spirit and matter.
