Dural - all students at the Marine Security Guard School in Quantico, Virginia - stopped at a restaurant in Stafford for lunch. While eating, a fight broke out in the restaurant, and one of the instigators pulled a knife. “This is serious. This went from one level to a whole different level," recalled Dural, an infantry rifleman and native of Lafayette, Louisiana. "At that point, I realized that there are women and children here - I couldn’t let anyone get hurt." Dural grabbed the teen’s arm and wrestled him to the ground, while Darby and Feldkamp stood over them, preventing anyone else from intervening. When the knife was snapped in half during the struggle, Darby quickly grabbed it. “As soon as it happened, my only thought was to keep Dural safe,” explained Darby, a flight equipment technician from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. “If anything happens to him, it's my responsibility to keep him safe. I thought once he involved himself, we all had to.” With their knife now broken and out of reach, the teens fled out the rear exit of the restaurant and were promptly apprehended by police. The Marines were quick to explain why they felt compelled to act in a dangerous situation. “When the people saw the scuffle, they were going for the doors. So there weren't many people in there that were trying to help out,” added Feldkamp, a motor transport operator from Ann Arbor, Michigan. “Then suddenly the knife came out and more people got scared.
