At the Aesop counter in Le Bon Marché, Paris, organic forms of amber glass hover from the walls and ceiling. Hand-cast by longstanding collaborator Fabio Vogel, they project a warm glow onto matte slabs of Saint Maximin—a type of limestone quarried around Paris since Roman times, out of which much of the city was built.
