A few years ago, a close friend of mine @michellehynek was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma. Thankfully, today - Michelle is a Colorectal Cancer #survivor (and thriver!) 💙 While Michelle getting sick was a huge wake up call, it still took me four years to get checked myself… but I finally went a few weeks ago and I could not be more grateful that I did. Even though it took a while, I still went before the recommended screening age and I didn’t have any hardcore symptoms or anything…well the doctor ended up finding a large polyp, which he removed. Ultimately, getting screened and doing it early most likely saved my life - if I would’ve waited, it could’ve been too late. So please please please get screened and urge your loved ones to do the same. As Michelle says: “Get a colonoscopy. Do not ignore your body telling you something is wrong. Do not listen to doctors if they are dismissive if you don't feel right. Find someone else who will listen.” You need to be your biggest advocate -it could SAVE your life.
