In Paris I wanted to see @Maison Margiela ‘s new HQ primarily to catch the last moments of the Cinema Inferno Artisanal collection installed all over the ateliers in a fantastic mise-en-scène setup
The equally brilliant co-ed collection was extrapolated from @jgalliano ‘s star crossed lovers Count and Hen and their magical layers
Beyond Count and Hen’s narrative though, the resulting clothes - the Western-inflected hybridisations, deconstructed tailoring, punk and Teddy boy riffs and frothy negligee dresses - have real solid substance
Whimsy and fantasy reined in and made weirdly pragmatic
And seeing as it’s supposedly a season “all about the clothes” as opposed to “fashtainment” I know where my £££ will be going ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
