Even so, we understand those who argue for their rights, as we ourselves have always argued for ours. But what we won’t abide by is the concept that guns make the world a safer place. They simply allow some of us to horde the violence, call that safety, or at least security. It drags us all into the public prison of a security state. Guns don’t even make the household safer, as those who live in a domicile with firearms are simply more likely to be injured by them. Sounds less like self-defense and more like self-harm. Statistics don’t appreciate irony. But we do. Rather than engage in real, meaningful forms of self-empowerment, we see a bunch of Rambo hobbyists that couldn’t hike a rucksack down to the local Walmart for more ammo, if shit really popped off. It won’t. Guns are toys. Fashion accessories – but unfortunately, ones that kill. The same folks that are obsessed with grooming choose to ignore the actual clear and present danger. Not one child has died at a drag show. But some day, we can predict it will happen, because some angry man with a gun will show up to “defend” the children. Do you feel safe yet? Maybe try our way. Do a billboard in Tennessee about gun violence, only so a couple days later someone can shoot up a preschool and make it relevant. We guess that is more situational irony. Don’t worry, we won’t bore you with the nuance. By stretching the truth, we make it so thin, it gets as transparent as the lies, the propaganda. It’s about money. All of it. And power.
