First of all, if you’re asking, it has probably been way too long for me to deserve a blue check mark, but besides paying for it… haha, here are the reasons why I could have had it before this feature existed: 1. IDENTITY - I am definitely the real Olivia Thai even though there’s a dot in my username. 2. YOUTUBE - In 2007, I uploaded my first (and very bad) cover on YouTube, which led to years of posting (very bad) covers to amass 21M+ views. 3. TAIWAN IDOL - I miraculously won the internationally televised Taiwan Idol in 2009, which led to many years of me being a singing competition judge. Side note: I do not enjoy being a judge… I wish everyone could have won. 4. AMERICAN IDOL - I was a top 100ish contestant on the last season of American Idol XV on FOX as a solo artist in 2016. 5. SUPPORTERS- Over 500,000 followers/friends/fans/supporters/haters across social media platforms & previously heavily featured on a YouTube channel with over 2M subscribers. 6. NEWS - Featured on the news for music, entrepreneurship, and this one time I was livestreaming when a “ballistic missile” was headed toward Hawai’i. Spoiler alert: it was a false alarm, but I am forever traumatized by the experience of thinking I was going to die for 38 minutes. That video clip of my reaction was and still is on every news station and documentary that talks about that incident. I don’t think that being a songwriter on MTV, Disney+, and commercials help for verification since it’s a small credit for each time I wrote a song for TV shows, but I guess it is possible 🤷‍♀️ Either way, I will say that I feel a lot better now that I shouldn’t have messages asking if this account is really me 🙃 Thank you for noticing me 👋」3月24日 23時51分
