Spring!!!! Growing stuff has quickly become my favorite hobby ever. My sweet little plants are growing nicely (I think??) and we’ll be hardening off a bit over the next few weeks before transplanting to their balcony homes in grow containers. When I started this project I was so disconnected from the earth. I gave very little thought to what was underneath me. If you gave me a seed and asked me to grow something I would have absolutely no clue how to do it. In the past few weeks I’ve learned so much about soil health, worms, how broken our food system is and a lot about the incredible work farmers are doing to try to change food in America for the better 💓 one of my big takeaways is that learning lessons from your fellow farmers is the best way to take big steps forward. There’s no ego in growing plants. Methods are varied and the best nuggets of wisdom are passed down generationally.
