12 Harajuku Street Styles w/ Comme Des Garcons, New Rock, HEIHEI & Mikio Sakabe
Tokyo is about to start cherry blossom season, and that means that lots of fashionable people are out on the streets. Check out these looks - including 12-year-old Harajuku superstar Coco Pink Princess - and let us know what you think in the comments! This group has a lot of Comme Des Garcons and platform shoes, as you’ll notice. Spring is when the Japanese school year changes, and tens of thousands of new students move to Tokyo from all over Japan. We’re meeting a lot of new kids on the street every weekend. The new Harajuku kids are always excited to get started at Tokyo fashion/beauty/art schools, or start new jobs in the big city, so they bring a lot of energy to Harajuku every year. We never know who will become a new street style star, but at least some of the new kids you see on our Instagram stories every weekend are likely to be part of the future of Japanese fashion, art, and culture.
