A capture of the monolithic rock at Percé (a village in Quebec, Canada), known as Rocher Percé, during low tide when people can cross from the mainland. Gilpin was an American artist born in 1922 who had a lifelong interest in photography producing more than 7,000 negatives over his career, all black and white.
