On this day a year ago, the very first recording sessions for Hevenshe began! Here's an excerpt from my journal on 31/1/22:
"I really can't believe this is happening. Between the delays, the doubts, the deliberating... I'm here now. The songs arrived, the confidence grew, the trust returned. I can feel myself beaming. No pangs of insecurity or nervousness. There was a harmony and a holding in the room.
Can I be gentle without being fearful or apologetic? Can I be open without being exposed and protective? Can I make space and accomodate without being invisible and irrelevant? YES. Of course I can. Can I be forward without being threatening? Can I be assertive without being stubborn? Strong without being abrupt? YES. Of course I can. I can be myself AND be accepted. I can be candid AND celebrated. Big and beautiful. Bold and respected. I can make mistakes. I can express myself freely. I can lead. I can shine. I can be great."
All was and is possible. All was and is well.
