My Mum's Apple Crumble recipe and the crumble we just made from the apples we picked yesterday!

2 lbs cooking or eating apples,
2 tbsp brown sugar if using cooking apples 1 tbsp for eating apples
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbs water

Crumble Mix

8oz plain flour
4 oz butter cubed at room temperature
1 or 2 oz oats
2 tbs brown sugar.
1 tbs Demarra sugar

Method

Wash, peel and core the apples or just core the apples if you 'd like to leave the skin on, chop apples into bite size pieces. Place into a suitable dish ir pyrex, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over apples and mix well. Add water and mix well.
In another large bowl put the plain flour and cubed butter rub in well till the mix forms crumbs, Add the oats and brown sugar. Put the crumble mix over the apples covering the top well, now sprinkle the demarra sugar over the crumble, place in a pre heated oven, at temperature of 190 C on the middle shelf for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with cream or custard or Ice Cream. You could use your food mixer to make the crumble, making sure you don't mix the butter and flour too long, as you want the flour and butter to resemble crumbs !
