She was 5 foot tall and wanted to change the world without ever losing hope in humanity. She was a product of the 60’s and was ahead of her time. A vegetarian before it was a thing and recycled her whole life. She was a yoga teacher for 35 years and had been trying to save the planet ever since I was born. She was playful, spiritual, creative and curious. She loved snaking and was always hot or cold. She was an artist who never made a living out of her immense talent. My house is filled with her art. She could do it all. I’m grateful that Canada allows people with terminal diseases to request medical assistance in dying and leave this world with some dignity. She made that heartbreaking choice and even though it broke my heart I supported her all the way. She was funny, courageous and determined until the end on Oct 12th 3pm. An hour before her last breath we danced on Happy, she had never heard the song. As she was being prepped some music was playing in the background, she said “it’s boring, something is missing with this music, can we put something more intense” When the doctor asked few minutes before the procedure if she still wanted to go ahead she replied almost defiant without missing a beat “ 1, 2, 3 let’s go! She loved butterflies and birds. In her calendar yesterday she wrote l’envol/take off. Fly away maman, you are now free from all the pain. Love you.」10月13日 22時32分 - yanic_truesdale
