I am honored to partner with #GoogleDoodle to celebrate the one and only Tito Puente for #HispanicHeritageMonth.

He was a pioneering musician, bandleader, composer, and innovator. There is not enough space here to encompass all the contributions Tito Puente made in the genre of Latin Jazz, (Mambo, Cha Cha, and Salsa) - a true leader and ambassador of Latin Music around the world.

From an early age, watching Tito helped me understand what an American of Latino heritage is capable of doing. He was the King of Latin music, a living legend beloved by millions.

From this generation and the next, thank you, Maestro. Your legacy lives on.
