-This was a magical experience-
Little bit of back story of why I enjoyed free diving so much.
As a professional swimmer, I learnt how to push my body, hold my breath and push through pain. Yes I have some pretty good lungs on me haha nope does not mean you are invincible or can hold your breath for longer.
I experienced a traumatic black out a year ago trying to hold my breath, it really freaked me out and emotionally I didn’t enjoy the water like I used to. Yep Olympic swimmer nearly drowned, ironic. Traumatic event that I knew I had to slowly overcome in order to be me in the water again. I wanted to feel the magic again.
So we traveled to Malta and onto to Gozo Island for a free diving course. I was a little anxious, scared and nervous.
But @deepmedfreediving opened my eyes to breathing technique, equalising and just being super calm. I found myself daily being more open, calm, and not anxious about diving deep.
A huge thanks to our wicked coach @fabricebdupuis for being a fun safe and calm dude to help me on my free diving journey. I absolutely loved it.
Thanks also to my BFL for helping me overcome my fear and sharing this experience and making memories with you ❤️
SO.. if you’re scared, take the leap anyway. It lead to overcoming a fear, unlocking feelings and emotionally being in touch with the body and mind.
