My mother, who was a hippie and normally not concerned with such things suddenly decided that we must meet the queen! So she dressed us all in red and we took the ferry to the mainland. My mother reasoned if we were this big exciting red blob in the crowd the Queen would have to come over to see what was going on! The crowd was sparse that day… Power River is a small town. When they arrived, Prince Philip saw us right away and headed over to say hello. “What have we here?” he asked. “We’re the Tilly family from Texada Island!” we piped up in unison. He was amused and brought the Queen over. “You must meet the Red Tilly Family from Texada island!” he insisted! She was lovely and Prince Philip shook all our hands.
