Growing up i felt so alone, I never thought I would ever be able to be myself and live free. I didn’t think I would ever escape the daily abuse and have a chance to find peace.
But one thing I now know, which I wish someone had told me when I was a little boy, is that there are and where so many others just like me out there and that one day I will be able to stand in my own light and have a chance to put this pain and suffering behind me.
I wrote this song to every single person out there that is going through hell right now feeling like they are alone in this world and that their future looks bleak, I want YOU to know that you just gotta hold on and make it through this stage, because I promise you it does get better.
I won’t lie and say that you come out and it’s all rainbow flags, glitter and unicorns cos it’s not, all the pain and shame doesn’t just disappear, sadly. It takes time, patience and a-lot of hard uncomfortable work, work I still have do daily, it just becomes easier. But it is so worth it. I never thought I would have ever gotten to this stage in my life. I didn’t see a future. But I am so fucking glad I held on when hope was so hard to find. Cos I am proud of who I have become and all the obstacles I have overcome. I believe in you
