She was 86 years old. Today, Ruth’s son gave an emotional testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee during a hearing on domestic terrorism. According to a committee press release, this hearing will examine “the continued threat posed by violent white supremacists and other extremists, including those who have embraced the so-called ‘Great Replacement’ conspiracy theory, as well as the federal government’s response to that threat.” The hearing is the first of two this week that families of the victims and survivors of mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde will appear at to show the human toll of America’s gun violence epidemic.
