This young woman is 13 years old. She should be running through her neighborhood with her friends, riding bikes and having sleepovers. Instead she’s going to city commission meetings to tell adults that they need to be doing something about the senseless shooting of a young man in her community. As I am sitting here creating this post, there is an active shooting in Texas at a middle school where more people have lost their lives. Aren’t you all tired of turning the TV on and seeing this carnage? Hearing about another young black man killed by police but the same person that shoots up a school armed with assault weapons is arrested without bloodshed. We have a problem in this country people and it’s not a democrat or republican problem. It’s all of our problem! When are the adults in the room going to stand up and do something? We should all be embarrassed that we need children to come to meetings and air their grievances within our communities. Let children be children and will the adults in the room please step up and lead! Get rid of qualified immunity and let’s protect our kids and our schools. #thetimeisnow #loveyourchildrenmorethanguns
