Innocent people are being killed, families ripped apart, people torn from their homes. Life as the Ukrainians know it has become a nightmare overnight. ‘The invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces under Vladimir Putin threatens the lives of countless Ukrainians and holds the potential to shake the geopolitical bedrock of western democracy.’ I am also deeply moved by the heroism so many people are exhibiting in the face of such horrific circumstances.
