GHOST OF A CHANCE. Somewhere along the way during this years Boston to Berkeley II Tour. This has been one of my favorites to play from any of the Rancid albums I’ve been a part of. I always enjoy a rowdy, quick song that gets a good circle pit going! Some fun little fills here and there. In my opinion I think it’s important to play what’s best for the song rather than what makes you flex as an individual. I’m not a solo artist. I love being in bands. I want the band and songs to shine more than myself. When I joined Rancid over 15 years ago there was a very established sound that I loved. A very different style of drumming from my previous band. It’s more important to me to keep that sound and energy alive that I was such a fan of more so than to overplay complicated beats and fills that would change the sound just to serve my ego. So while the drums may not flex much, the songs have exactly what they need. That’s what’s important. It’s not about me. Enjoy! Captured via @gopro - @brandensteineckert
