It might be a learning disability, a chemical imbalance, depression or anxiety. Whether it be a big or small 'T' (trauma), a complex trauma from your upbringing or a moment that has created your present narrative that was once adaptive but now maladaptive, there are many resources out there if you need to talk to someone, to be heard and seen, the sharing goes a long way to healing. For those who feel the need to self medicate as a way to numb the pain, escape, or create the illusion of being present or just the opposite...to hide...it can get terribly dangerous.
