It’s about pushing my self and exceeding customer’s expectations. Because at the end of the day. Money will come and go, but that first reaction will last forever… I’ve been building bikes and cars for Greg and Diane Cooke since 1997. I think every bike and car he has from me has a story. Unfortunately the story turned sad while building this 1949 Mercury for Greg. Their 21 year old son Drew lost his life mid way through the build. A deviating blow to the entire family. For obvious reasons Greg stepped back from everything. But we continued to finish the car. I knew fwhen things healed up he would for sure want it. I wanted to do some kind of tribute to his son on the car. So @fro_fab machined a stainless horn ring and button. We had full relief engraved by Jere Davidson with the @jeff_freeze designed script “In Loving Memory of Drew” on the button. The video is not only Greg & Diane seeing the finished car for the very first time. They are also seeing the tribute to Drew, that I never told them I was doing.. I think both of their reactions, and mine, and everyone watching with tears tell the story… Sometimes something like a custom car has a bigger meaning than all of us..
