Hopefully I don’t butcher what I heard too much which is why I’ll keep it short. . our dopamine levels are the controller of our drive & we don’t have endless amounts of dopamine for use whenever we need it. It’s not just your motivation/drive to workout..it’s so much MORE. . There are so many things that we do (often mindlessly) that give us a hit of dopamine & then following that hit our dopamine drops as much as it went up from our baseline. . One of those mindless things is scrolling though social media. A positive & negative hit of dopamine is STILL a hit of dopamine. Then add in this thing called dopamine “stacking” which we see everywhere we go..scrolling while doing other activities..that are giving us dopamine hits too. Lol . My takeaway is to be more thoughtful on the things I’m doing. Not just mindless scrolling..there’s sooo much about the stimulants we take too. This part scared me. And is why I went cold turkey stimulant free this week. I don’t know how long it will last but in the name of vitality & health in the long run I’m going for it. . Each day has gotten better & each night my sleep has been even better than the previous. . As someone who is used to going hard & just drinking something stimulative when tired..this has been eye opening to say the least. .
