My usual preparation includes plenty of work outs prior to principal photography, so today I ran just over 3 miles, at about 7.5 minutes per mile. Another fun fact - I rowed crew for some time in high school, and it’s always the arduous workouts like these that bring me back to my days on the team. Those guys were (and still are) some of the hardest working guys I know, and they taught me a lot about sportsmanship, teamwork, endurance, and achievement, which is a mentality that I try to bring into filming new roles. While many of them went on to row for the Ivy’s and settle on the east coast, I like to think that I stole their work ethic and brought it with me to the west coast. To whoever is reading this, you should push yourself in everything you pursue, and never stop until you’ve given it your all. Regarding today’s run, I fell to my knees on the front lawn once I made it home, because I literally could not have run any harder or farther, and that’s what the boys on the team would have done.
