I’ve been advising as a mentor for LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2021 for the past few months, and I am happy to announce “Portable solar distiller” by Henry Glogau was selected as the Grand Prix winner. The LEXUS DESIGN AWARD aims to create a better future by nurturing the next generation of young creative talent.
The distiller provides clean drinking water from polluted water as well as seawater using sunlight.

I was greatly impressed by how all the finalists absorbed the advice from their mentors and evolved their projects in a meaningful direction with great speed.

I look forward to having more aspiring young designers apply in 2022!

私がメンターを務めるLEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2021(世界中の次世代を担うクリエイターの育成・支援を目的とした国際デザインコンテスト)のグランプリにヘンリー・グロガウ(Henry Glogau)さんが選ばれました。作品は「Portable Solar Distiller(太陽光を利用して汚染された水や海水を蒸留し、きれいな飲料水をつくりだすもの)」です。

ファイナリストの皆さんがメンターからのアドバイスを吸収して、自分たちのプロジェクトをさらに良い方向へ進化させたことに感動しました。
2022年も意欲的なデザイナーの応募を待っています！
