Thought I'd do a little photo dump and a bit of a check in. 💁🏼‍♀️🗑️ Alf's top right front tooth is now poking out, and so it's been a week of intense teething pain and congestion. This has meant the little man has been unable to lie down without getting all blocked up, so lots of cuddles and sit up sleeping has been required which means a very tired mummy and daddy. Honestly, it's exhausting but I really don't like the concept of describing babies as 'good' or 'bad' sleepers - they're just little babies with different and ever changing needs. I'm very happy to provide cuddles. Oh and Ashton & Parsons teething gel - that stuff has been a godsend. Thank you everyone for recommending it, and for just getting me through this week. Postnatally - physically I feel a LOT stronger (16 weeks pp). I'm still seeing @martakinsella once a week, but I've had no incontinence (WAHEYYYY) and I've been feeling stronger since I upped my protein with my daily breakfast smoothie. Mentally I've been a bit all over the place though. It's weird to describe, because it's like I'm happy and in love and count my blessings every day. But I also feel a bit numb and like everything is a bit cloudy. I'm just allowing these feelings, and also accepting the help and support - we had Tommy's parents here for a few days and of course our Doula @thesurreydoula. Someone made me feel really reassured with advice this week. They said: "Ashley, you've gone from being single and travelling the world for both work and play, you've gone from DJing a few nights a week and going into TV studios and events... To now living in a global pandemic with a live-in boyfriend and a baby - all whilst recovering from childbirth. You can be happy as anything, but it's still a huge adjustment and will take time to figure out what works for you". It sometimes takes people stating the obvious to make you feel better. I hope that helps anyone else. So yeah I'm just taking it day by day, not overthinking anything. For now though, it's just bloody lovely to have a smiling baby again and a long weekend. ❤️」5月2日 21時49分 - ashleylouisejames
