{DIY Desk/Vanity Chair} :: Found this vintage chair on Craigslist.. previously a velvet mustard color w/ dark oak trimming?so I decided to completely change the entire piece to match my office/studio? Painted Upholstery -(Tutorial) 1.) mix 1 part latex paint of your choice w/ 1 part textile medium; mix well, then add equal parts water; should be the consistency of glaze. 2.) Wipe any dust or debris off and spray fabric with water to dampen; add first coat and allow to dry. This took about 5-6 coats as I changed it to a lighter color. Should be less coats if you are sticking to a similar color choice 3.) Sand down after it dries w/ a fine grit sand paper and continue w/ next coat. The finished fabric compares to a canvas texture. Sand down w/ 250 grit sand paper; wipe down debris & dust 2.) Prime w/ rustoleum spray paint 3.) Spray a couple coats of desired color. Hope I made sense xoxo?
