#internationalwomensday has always been a treasured day for me. Growing up in Russian #march8th is a holiday the whole nation enjoys and takes part in ( we also have men’s day). Each woman no matter her age, marital status, or if she’s a mother or not is celebrated with joy. As a child I remember soldiers passing out flowers to all the women on the sidewalk in Moscow. Female school teachers were greeted with bouquets of flowers from each student... so many most teachers couldn’t carry them all. I hope we can shift our collective mentality and celebrate men/ women/ and every shade in between (human) like this every day. Mentally giving thanks to each other for existing, giving kindness like we gift flowers, and allowing space for all people to be simply themselves. xX
