Crash I had most don’t make it out alive. A day I will never forget. Especially on birthdays. One I remember mostly in fragments, thru the fog of a consussion & yet so vividly. I remember the excruciating pain of my broken ribs and body as if it was yesterday. I remember what it feels like to not be able to breathe when your lungs collapse. I still remember the doctors voice telling me if they didn’t put me under for surgery asap I wasn’t gonna make it. All I could think about was my father, who had just had surgery. I was trying to remember the last thing I said to him, hoping it was I love you dad. I will never forget what it feels like to think I wasn’t gonna see another day. I realized then when I found myself alone fighting for my life, how much I took life for granted, how asleep I was. Safe to say I’m wide awake now. Age is just a number, another year of life experience. Celebrate ur life & urself on the daily. Don’t wait til ur bday or a special occasion. Fight for your life, it’s a gift.
