I always found myself armoring up and protecting myself from failure or the shame of disappointment. I didn't want to be vulnerable or seen in case it was not good enough. It wasn't until I started to allow kindness in that I could honestly know that I was not alone. The kindness coming from others, strangers, and friends, but most importantly, show empathy towards myself. This ah-ha moment has changed a lot about how I approached this past year. I now smile at the notion of what the journey may look like in the end. There is a plethora of directions and paths I may take. These opportunities excite me and push me to be a better version everyday. I will continue to grow, be challenged, and learn from all my experiences. Kindness is something that humanity experiences daily, and now that I am mindfully experiencing it, the power of it fuels my everyday.
