“✨ I come from a time where ‘frying and dying’ your hair was considered the norm to fit into the one dimensional beauty standard so often forced on us by the media we consumed daily. From high school to my university days I was constantly chemically straightening and lightening my hair. I truly believed that's what made me ‘beautiful,’ but as fate would have it, my hair got so damaged it literally fell out.

✨ Although I didn't plan on going natural, it was definitely a blessing in disguise. It forced me to learn how to love and care for my natural hair, how to see myself without the ‘safety net’ of my long straight hair. I'm not going to sugar coat it, it was rough and I kinda hated it at first. But as time passed and my sense of self worth and confidence grew, I fell in love with my natural hair and now, I wouldn't change it for the world.

✨ In sharing my authentic self and natural hair journey through my socials I was able to not only inspire other people to love and care for their natural hair but I was also able to pursue my dream of becoming a model. Brands that I had loved and looked up too since I was little were now reaching out to me to book me for their campaigns. My beauty and modeling journey may be an unconventional one, but I am forever grateful for the path it has taken me on and all the blessings I've been afforded along the way.
