I wrote yesterday that @クリス・シャーマ often wanted to go straight to the hardest route when we would visit a new crag. It was pretty funny and we always teased him, but he always sent. These were the hardest routes in the world at the time. I pulled up some old photos to see if my memory was accurate:
1. Supertweak, (Logan Canyon, 14b, 1996?) straight on it, sent in a few tries.
2. Surf Safari (13d in a try or two, 1995?)
3. Just Do it (14c, straight on Smith Rock and America’s hardest, sent in a few days, 1997?)
4. Lardbutt (13c, in a few days, 1995?)
5. Closing Down (14a, 1995?)
6. Necessary Evil (14c, FA, 1997)
7. Biographie (15a, Ceuse, took a lot longer, but true to form, it was the 1st route he tried at Ceuse, or Europe for that matter). #climbinghistory #smithrock #logancanyon #mickeysbeach #ventfive #pinnaclesnationalpark #climber
