I felt strong, loved, and terrified, yet capable to move mountains. I’ll never forget finishing my program, sitting down on the ice, with an overload of bubbling happiness as I looked around at my team, my coach, and my family hiding up in the stands with everyone up on their feet! That energy still makes my body shake just thinking about it. • But that was 3 years ago. And since, I’ve been kind of lost. I keep getting asked the same questions, “what’s now?” “What’s next?” “How is anything you do now going to compare?” And to be honest, those questions scare the life out of me because I really don’t know. I don’t know what’s next. I don’t know if I’ll have another memory that clings to my very being like this day does. • What I do know is that I’m capable of feeling as free as I did that day when I hit my ending pose. I’m capable of feeling strong and loved, and in love with who I am. But it took me 22 years of being on this earth to make a memory like that. It took tireless hours of training, painful injuries, and wonderful relationships to build to this memory. • What I know is that the process is what makes the memory.
